Looking for Cheap Notebook Computers in the UK?
I must
admit we're partial to notebook computers here. Like you, I want
the best in cheap notebook computers in the UK that I can buy for
my budget. And no-one here in the offices has complained yet! It's
not always been plain sailing either if like me you've bought cheap
notebook computers before. We've had poor screen definition, the
flexy-keyboard that gives up and the slow processor ('..well
you did buy it cheap didn't you sir..').
We get a
lot of enquiries about what sort of desktop and notebook computers
we buy in the UK so it's time to spill the beans on what we recommend
and use. Like everyone else we want cheap notebook computers to
save money but also want the best quality. It took us a while to
cotton on to Dell computers (which I know you've probably heard
of) because for a while back we thought they were too expensive.
But that I think was just the impression they give since we've found
them to be very reasonable on price for quality
build notebook computers.

from £700 for a laptop with a 2.2Ghz processor no less, and with
256M of RAM. That includes 14.1" TFT screen, 20Gb hard drive,
modem, DVD drive, network card, Microsoft Works and Windows XP!
That's what we call cheap notebook computers and that's why
we recommend them to anybody that asks!
The
Inspiron range, gives you an extensive range of designs,
styles, features and performance levels and rapid integration of
cutting-edge notebook technologies, including wireless networking
and high screen resolutions as well as many other benefits.![Inspiron Notebook Computers [UK]](../pix/Dell/inspn_4100.gif)
The Latitude
range, give you excellent remote manageability, integrated ease-of-service
features and an extensive range of performance and expandability
options.Well, that's what their blurb says anyway. We bought them
based on reviews we found like the one at CNET which said:
"
The bottom line: The Inspiron 2600 series has the
features you'd expect in a budget notebook, along with the usual
limits. But its performance and battery life set it apart, making
it one of our top choices for students, home users, or small businesses.

review at

which said:" Dell's Latitude range received
a shot in the arm earlier this year with the release of the impressive
C400 model, a 1.7kg ultraportable system that received an Editors'
Choice award in our January group test. Now Dell has taken the same
basic look and feel, and designed an even more ultraportable system
featuring a docking base and an optional external media bay. Stripped
to its bare essentials, the Latitude x200 weighs just 1.27kg.

That's exactly
what we wanted to hear when looking for cheap notebook computers
so that's what we got. If you haven't yet experienced a 14.1"
or 15" TFT notebook screen then you're in for a treat. We find
these are just so much better than normal monitor screens
and you'll find that this size is actually a bit bigger than a conventional
equivalent size monitor screen (don't ask). The quality is amazing
and does not deteriorate or ever get out of focus. Come to think
of it THAT'S why we like running notebook computers here
so much!
Anyway,
check them out for yourselves. We think you'll get the right spec
notebook computers you want because you can set your own requirements
(a bit like building your own, only Dell get to do the work). The
Dell site is easy to use and pretty informative and purchasing really
doesn't come any easier especially as you get an instant price update
every time you change or add a component.

As
an alternative, we've found Morgan Computers selling second-user
laptops for prices that are sometimes hard to believe. The
feedback we've had is pretty good as the quality of the laptop is
often similar to new! Morgan
Computers certainly seem to be extremely competitive on prices
so have a look at what they've currently got in stock.
